Byte This! July,
17th 2003
Josh - We'll be talking about Vengeance throughout the
hour here on Byte This! but joining us now on the phone
as a surprise call in Lita you're on with myself, Dr. Tom
and Zach Gowen.
Josh - How's it going.
Lita - Good. You've got a motley crue going on there today.
Dr. Tom - You're not kidding! How are you doing?
Lita - I'm doing great. I'm getting ready to get back in
the ring but before I do, I'm having a pet celebration.
It's well known that I've been pretty heavily involved with
animals this past year so kind of like a closure to this
year and so that I feel like I've done something with my
time off, I'm haveing a big festival party celebration for
animals this Saturday.
Josh - And the deal is called A.D.O.R.E. correct?
Lita - Right. I started A.D.O.R.E. as my own foundation
and this is the kickoff event. A.D.O.R.E. is an acronym
for Amy Dumas Operation Rescue and Education.
Dr. Tom - Very, very cool.
Lita - So this is our first, it's our local function, our
kickoff for A.D.O.R.E. and the national kickoff will be
when my book comes out where I have a portion of the proeeds
from the book will go to A.D.O.R.E as well.
Josh - Right on. And that is in Aberdeen, NC this Saturday
correct?
Lita - Right. It's right near Southern Pines which is right
near where me and Matt and Jeff all live, it's down there
so it's in NC country.
Dr. Tom - Very good. You know I had a chance earlier to
take a look at the new WWE Magazine that's gonna be coming
out (talks to off camera guy) with you on the cover and
it talks about you getting ready to make a comeback in the
ring and I've got to tell you this though, after my wife
saw the feature on you where you were actually doing volunteer
work for the animal shelters, she also likes doing like
things that and she's really got an appreciation for what
you do.
Lita - Cool! See I'm getting new fans, people who don't
even like me for being Lita but I get the crossover audience
which is nice. It's always good to broaden your fan base.
Dr. Tom - Certainly.
Josh - Lita how are you feeling these days? How's everything
going as you say you're getting ready to get back in the
ring. When can we expect that and how are you feeling?
Lita - I feel awesome! I feel so good and it actually took
a long time and I wasn't feeling as good as I wanted to
a year out which was you know an estimated time for me to
be back. But as of now I feel really good, I might be up
there if Zach's still up there, with Dr. Tom getting some
training tips as well before I go back in the ring. It could
be any time and I don't know when, I'm kind of preparing
for when I do get that call to come back that I'm more then
ready.
Dr. Tom - Very cool. I know that the girls and guys in
OVW are looking forward to maybe seeing you come down that
way as well. Is that something you're looking forward to?
Maybe stepping foot in an OVW ring?
Lita - Yeah um we've made a stop down there before and
it's always good to get a, it's definitely not the same
feel you get stepping into a WWE ring but that smaller feel
is more intimate of going down there and kind of testing
your things out before you get fully ready.
Josh - I know were all looking forward to seeing Lita back
on WWE programming as soon as possible but Lita, A.D.O.R.E.,
this event that's going on Saturday in Aberdeen is it something
that people can come to and what's going to be going on
there?
Lita - Well it's from noon to 5 and from noon to 2 I'll
be signing autographs and doing Polaroids and stuff but
we're also going to have pet competitions with the fastest
tail wagger...
Josh - (interrupts) Hey! Dr. Tom has ferrets!
Lita - They might, they can make a run for the fastest
tail but usually the boxers, the dobermans ones with "something"
tails have an advantage because they've got the tiny tails.
Josh - Or they might eat Dr. Toms ferrets too.
Lita - *laughs* That's also a possibility.
Dr. Tom - Yeah, I wouldn't want that to happen.
Josh - Well there you go. Anyone in the Aberdeen, NC area,
you know go out and see Lita this Saturday and uhh
Lita - It's not limited to people in the Aberdeen area
though, we've actually got phone calls coming in from the
different organizations and people are actually making a
road trip out of this so I'd like to meet people that are
coming long distance to come out to that. Josh - Right on.
So there you go. Lita thank you for joining us here on Byte
This! and we look forward to seeing you as soon as possible.
Lita - I'll see you guys soon. Thanks for having me.
Zach - Thanks Lita.
