FORT LAUDERDALE,
Fla. Dec. 15, 2002
Championships went on the line
in four blockbuster matches at Armageddon, but the segment
that drew the greatest level of interest backstage didn't
involve a single wrestling hold. Virtually every Superstar
who wasn't preparing for a match crowded around the backstage
monitor in eager anticipation of the exclusive footage showing
Dawn Marie and Torrie Wilson's hotel room rendezvous. When
the two finally kissed, a burst of cheers and whistles broke
out in overwhelming approval of the segment. Once Dawn Marie
made her way backstage, WWE.com caught up with her to find
out what she thought of her close encounter with Torrie
Wilson.
WWE.com: How do you think the in-ring segment went?
Dawn Marie: I think it went really well. I was happy with
it and it was fun, most of all. I get very excited when
I go out there and try new things. Talking in the ring is
very new to me because I didn't do very much of it in ECW.
So I really feel challenged when I get to go out and do
that, and I like that. I'm still shaking!
WWE.com: Are you aware that it was a sellout on the backstage
monitor?
Dawn Marie: (Laughs). Well, boys will be boys!
WWE.com: I saw you went right over to Torrie when you
got backstage. What did you say to her?
Dawn Marie: I thanked her. All this would not have happened
without her. She's very easy to work with and she's very
giving. I think what makes this storyline so awesome is
she had her real dad come in to do it. I think that really
brought the whole thing together.
WWE.com: How weird was it to actually kiss Torrie?
Dawn Marie: Actually, it wasn't weird at all. I feel that
just because I do something here for TV, that doesn't mean
that's who I truly am. I have nothing against homosexuals.
I'm heterosexual. I'm engaged and I'll be getting married
soon. I'm a trained actress, and if that's the part I have
to play, then that's who I am for that moment. I just look
at it like, "Well, Julia Roberts played a prostitute,
but that doesn't mean she really is a prostitute."
I didn't feel weird doing it at all because it doesn't have
anything to do with who I am as a person or my morals as
a person or my choices as a person. It's my work, and that's
what I have to do.
WWE.com: Did it have any affect on your relationship with
Torrie? Was it kind of weird after the fact?
Dawn Marie: No. Like I said, Torrie's a very giving person.
When I say that, I mean personally she's a very giving,
wonderful person. She gives of herself to make the product
great. She wants you to look good so the product looks good.
She's not a selfish person out there. She has the same views
as I do. She's a trained actress and this is what we're
asked to do and this is our part. Let's do it and laugh
about it and go have catering! Really, that's how it is,
and she's a true professional.
WWE.com: What kind of reaction have you gotten from the
other Superstars?
Dawn Marie: Well boys will be boys. (Shrugs) You know.
They laugh and they giggle and they point. (Laughs) I think
they enjoyed teasing us more than they actually enjoyed
seeing it! (Laughs)
WWE.com: So is she a good kisser?
Dawn Marie: (Laughs) I don't kiss and tell!
